Meg goes to pre-school tomorrow for orientation. We need to be there at 10am sharp.
I am shitting my pants.
10am sharp??!! This will be my first real test as a supermom. Usually my mornings go like this:
Nurse baby sometime between 7 and 8am for a good forty minutes. Toddler wakes up and screams for me to come and get her for about twenty minutes. When I am done nursing and can go in and get her, I am usually ready to ring her neck because of all her screaming for me. I then assess her potty needs, is her diaper wet, or can she go like a big girl? Then I run off to put the tea kettle on, and place her in front of cartoons.
Now, usually by this time, newborn has figured out I left the bed (yes, we are sleeping together) and is screaming his head off....so I run off to get him and soothe him, usually by nursing again. Once he's settled, I pop him in the swing or bouncy seat and begin to make breakfast.....somewhere in here, I try to pee. I once remember waking up, peeing, washing my face all before I set foot out into my house........ah a distant memory.
Sometimes I cannot pee and am bursting by 10am but nonetheless.......once I get breakfast on the table, newborn is usually up again, this time upset because he's wet or shat himself.
Then I run back to make sure toddler hasn't a--thrown food somewhere, b--run off with sticky hands c--ignorned my breakfast altogether or d-- is eating it and making a huge mess....
And I have to get this all done tomorrow, including my shower, and dressing her and him by 9:30am so I can prepare to head out to the car......will need diapers, paperwork, and boobs, thank god those are attached.
Wish me luck.
I am expecting baby boy in December (baby #2), and you are not providing a description of a life I hope to lead! My darling October toddler is not going to take the arrival very well, though Meg seems to be doing okay.
